Team Group's principal business is to make the design and production of food processing and distribution facilities run smoothly and efficiently from concept to completion. We have extensive, and very specific design knowledge for a diverse array of food processing and distribution facilities. We know and utilize correct designs with the appropriate sanitary details that will minimize food safety risks and promote efficient operations.
Farming Technology, home to the Mountain King Potatoes label, has relied on Team Group for engineering and construction related services since 1999. Our work has supported Farming Technology in various ways from facility planning, design and engineering to disaster recovery and efficiency improvements. Our work proves that our wide range of expertise extends far beyond just design/build services.
Team Group provided design/build services to Frez-n-Stor for the construction of a frozen food storage addition and ten blast freezer cells to freeze poultry products. The facility was completed in nine months and featured a central ammonia refrigeration system, ELO fire protection system and vertical storing levelers. Concrete floors were Trap-Rock hardened to provide a long lasting wearing surface. 2005 Blast Freezing Facility – 95,000 Sq. Ft.
Team Group provided design/build services to Labatt for a number of expansions and modifications at their Dallas facility. In all cases, it was essential to perform this work around their existing operations with minimal disruptions. Our work involved significant modification to their existing ammonia refrigeration system and electrical service which necessitated after hours work. Since Labatt is a “round the clock†company, this adds to the complexity of project coordination. Several of the projects involved significant site parking and circulation reconfigurations including a street abandonment, main entrance relocation, refueling center and trailer wash relocation. 2001 Dry Warehouse and Office Expansion – 62,000 Sq. Ft. 2003 Frozen and Perishable Expansion – 52,000 Sq. Ft. 2005 Dallas Computer Data Center Remodel 2005 Land Acquisition, Demolition and Parking 2005 Cooler Room Modifications 2006 Extensive site demolition and development including land acquisition, refueling, truck parking, trailer wash facility
Team Group provided design/build services to Labatt for the construction of a new distribution facility located in the Houston market. Labatt had previously operated a truck terminal in Houston while relying on the San Antonio facility to provide product support. The construction a new local Houston facility not only improved customer service but it also served to increase capacity at the San Antonio facility. The Houston project included a two story office, dry storage, perishable, frozen and a completely refrigerated dock. The facility is has a central ammonia refrigeration system with penthouse mounted evaporator coils. Fire protection of the storage areas is by a combination of ESFR and Quell system designs. The site has a security gatehouse, truck refueling center along with trailer washing facility. 2006 New Distribution Facility – 148,000 Sq. Ft.
Team Group provided design/build services to Labatt for the expansion of their existing main distribution facility. The expansion included the demolition of an existing dock area and the construction of a new wider dock with office space located above. The work was performed around their daily operations with a minimal amount of disruption to the facility operation. Our work involved significant modification to their existing refrigeration system and electrical service which necessitated after hours work. Since Labatt is a “round the clock†company, this adds to the complexity of project coordination. Other projects included the compete changeover of the refrigeration system at their meat processing facility from a dedicated compressor/condenser and evaporator setup to a central refrigeration system. This system upgrade provided system redundancy of compressors and replaced the air cooled condensers with an evaporative condenser. The overall benefit was to provide more capacity to the facility, improve temperature control of the rooms and better manage energy costs. The new system was centrally controlled whereas the former system was only operated by local thermostats. Additional capacity was used for a process chilled water system. The applicant facility was created from an adjacent building that purchased, partially demolished with the remaining portion remodeled to provide the necessary function of an off-site applicant and training center. 2002 Applicant and Training Facility 2003 Main Distribution Facility Expansion – 125,000 Sq. Ft. 2005 Direct Source Meat Plant Renovation – 22,000 Sq. Ft. 2005 Computer Data Center Remodel
Team Group provided design/build services to Third Coast Produce for the construction of a produce storage and fresh cut processing facility. The project featured ammonia refrigeration, heavy-duty Trap-Rock concrete floors, single-ply roofing and insulated panel construction. The facility provided the capability of bringing the fresh cut operation in-house to Third Coast Produce which ensured better quality control throughout the process. 2006 Fresh Cut Processing & Distribution - 64,000 Sq. Ft.
